Meet us

Who are the Governors?
Local Authority Governor:  Mr Marcus Farr (Chair)
I have been a governor at the school since 2010 and Chair since 2012. I have a very strong connection with the school having attended myself many years ago and also with both my children attending the school in recent years. Since getting involved with the Governing Body I have enjoyed learning more about the role that the Governors play in the successful running of the school and enjoyed the effective partnership which exists between the staff and Governors at Wootton Bassett Infants.

I can be contacted through the school on 01793 852254.

Parent Governor: Miss Nicola Goldberg

I have been a parent governor since November 2019. I bring my professional experience as Head of Governance and Planning at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council as well as the perspective of a parent to the school. As one of the Vice-Chairs of the Governing Body I chair the Curriculum & Standards sub-committee.

Parent Governor: Mrs Gemma Clatworthy

I have over a decade of experience in Finance and Risk in a banking institution with a focus on risk management and strategy. I joined the governors in November 2019 and chair the Finance, Premises & Staffing Committee as well as being one of the Vice Chairs.

Co-opted Governor: Mrs Tracy Hacker

I have been a Governor since 2011 and have two children, one at Noremarsh and one at the Academy, like Marcus, I also attended the school as a pupil many years ago. I have been self-employed for a number of years. I am a member of the Institute of Management and have been able to put my People, Finance, and Strategy Management skills to use within the finance, staff and premises committee.

Co-opted Governor: Mr Matt Nicholls

I became a Co-opted Governor in October 2015. I have two children both of whom had a great start to their education at this school. My background is mixed, after serving in the RAF in engineering and aircrew roles, I have now become a train driver at GWR. My experience has helped me to understand the importance of teamwork and communication within organisations. I sit on the curriculum & standards sub-committee.

Parent Governor: Mrs Michelle McDermitt
I have been a parent governor since 2018 and I have one children at the school and a further who is a former pupil. I am an accountant currently working for WH Smith as an Internal Audit Manager so I am able to bring a wide range of skills and experience to the role of parent governor towards the finance. My aim is to make a positive and valuable contribution to the Governing Body to ensure that the strategic goals of the school are in the best interests of all children and that the school’s leadership team is appropriately supported, through its policies, procedures and practices, to ensure that each and every pupil can reach their potential. I sit on the finance, staff & premises committee.

Co-opted: Mrs Tiff Hughes
I became a parent governor six years ago when my children attended the Infants’ School. I am also a Year 2 teacher at the school two days a week. I am able to bring my view as a parent as well as my experience as a teacher to my role as a governor. I sit on the curriculum & standards committee.

Co-opted: Miss Kate Smith

I was co-opted as a Governor in 2019. I work for Wiltshire Police and have strong links to the RWB community and experience in safe guarding our children. I have twin daughters currently in Year 1 and a son who attends Noremarsh Juniors. My son has additional needs and a disability but he has thrived since joining the school when he was in Year 1. The difference the teachers and staff made to him was unmeasurable. Consequently, I am committed to supporting and promoting the entire school organisation by sharing my skills and genuinely wish to give something back to Wootton Bassett Infants.

Staff Rep: Mrs Rebeccca Tebbitt (Assistant Headteacher)
I am a teacher at Wootton Bassett Infants school and I teach in Year 1. I am also one of the Assistant Head Teachers. I have been a school governor for several years now and my role within the governing body is to represent the teaching staff. I am also able to support the Headteacher in talking to the governors about things that are happening in the school.

Staff Rep: Mr Mark Hazzard (Headteacher)

Clerk to the Governors: Miss Beckie Lynne
